Downriver’s Home

17 Jan

There is a river of God that runs through our souls and carries us towards the throne. If we don’t paddle we will end up at God’s house.

Now that’s a quote to meditate on!

hmm…it’s a great visual and sounds poetic, but what of the visual from Rev. 22.1? The river is proceeding from the throne of God, which is in us the New Jerusalem? I don’t know the context of Kris’ quote, but can’t help but ask ;-). Are we not God’s house? or is he saying we are and we shouldn’t fight or work for it since we are it?

Yeah, I know, and the river’s going in the wrong direction too. I just like the idea of effortlessly arriving at where God wants us to be. So many think of Christianity as walking a tight-rope. Be careful, they say. So the way is narrow, but Christ’s love constrains me. The Spirit inside is like a gyro – it makes me want to fall into an upright position. I have to make an effort now to sin and act contrary to my nature. Before Christ it was easy; now I don’t want to do it. I want to please Him.
